About

This build adds control mapping and controller support. It also adds more depth to combat with the introduction of Hives and automatic turrets. Note that this is a major update and will most likely require some follow-up fixes. Feedback can be shared on discord. https://discord.gg/a92kfCZccb


Quality of Life

  • Add a secondary Warp key binding using Shift
  • Add key mapping
  • Add an option to disable picture flash effects
  • Add material identification when aiming at an object with the crosshair
  • Update Escape menu button text to clarify that changes will be reverted
  • Add distance indicators to trackers

  • Add Hives, which are larger Rathren ships and harder to destroy

0.0.12 is really good, the no flash option is greatly appreciated and I like the turrets.  Built a ship with 2 lasers and 2 turrets and just beat a hive.  My only suggestions are to make the cockpit view a bit less restricted and maybe let us rotate and/or scroll the map.

The difficulty of big hairball battles is a little variable, I tend to stick to the edges and pick off lone enemies as much as I can.


The hive battle was overall easy, I used the same strategy to pick off isolated defenders and then went after the hive.  I kept 360-degree circle strafing it firing at it with my 2 lasers and the 2 turrets, and didn't take much damage.  I think my ship had 5 tons of cargo capacity, 2 or 3 generators, 2 or 3 engines, 1 armor block, 2 lasers, and 2 turrets.  I felt challenged, but I also felt like maybe I was a little lucky.  I would have to fight another hive to really have a strong opinion on their difficulty, I tend to have beginner's luck on things.
